Job Title: Senior Media Executive

The Coca-Cola team at EssenceMediacom is responsible for managing all Canadian media activations across the portfolio of 10+ brands in the market.
In addition to Canadian work, our team is part of the Global network of WPP/ OpenX agencies across multiple countries, providing unique growth opportunities for the team within the network.
This role is a key part of the Client Services team and is an integral part in capturing the client’s vision to reach the intended audience and goals.
OVERVIEW:
The Senior Media Executive is responsible for the development of client specific media plans across all media disciplines, providing supporting research and day-to-day client contact and servicing on assigned projects.
This includes working closely with cross-functional teams internally and in the US on the major North American/ Global initiatives.
A major part of this role is also providing supervision and training to junior team members.
YOUR IMPACT:
Client Service
- Day-to-day client contact
- Responsible for carrying out client requests and assisting projects for the group
- Develop and nurture relationships with clients, external agencies, and media partners
Leadership
- Successfully supervise the workflow of Media Executives and Associate Media Executives for the day to day running of the account, ensuring that tasks are completed on time, and project status is monitored.
- Mentor and train junior staff members
Planning
- Responsible for the development of client specific media plans across all channels
- Provides interpretation of competition and other research data
- Implements the EssenceMediaCom Systems Thinking into plans
- Works with all internal resources including Investment, Finance and Strategy, and BI&A in carrying out the development of their plans and client service requirements
- Oversees all media accounting and administrative duties required on their assigned accounts including monthly media expenditure reports (BCR’s)
- Participate in clients’ plan presentations.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Solid understanding of online and offline planning
- Proficiency with research tools i.e. IMS, Infosys, COMBNavigator, ComScore, Nielsen
- Strong client relationship management skills
- Demonstrated time management and multitasking skills
- Ability to collaborate and work closely with different people with varying communication styles, both internally and externally.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially presentation and client-facing communications
- Solid interpersonal skills. We work with an extended team across different WPP agencies daily and building great working relationships with these teams is crucial
- Detail-oriented and able to meet tight deadlines
- Begins to understand the client’s business
- Detail, accuracy and mathematical competency are a must
- Strong computer skills with a particular emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to manage and meet multiple demands within timeline
Education and Experience
- 3+ years’ experience in media planning
- Past CPG experience is an asset
- Post-secondary degree specialization in Advertising and/or Marketing an asset
