Description
We are seeking an experienced Media Director to join our agency. The Media Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of media planning, strategy, and execution across our diverse service offerings. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of both digital and traditional media, as well as the ability to lead a team of specialists to achieve optimal campaign results for our clients. You will work closely with account managers, creatives, data analysts, and clients to develop and execute effective media strategies that align with client goals and maximize ROI.

Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of media planners and buyers specializing in a range of channels, including digital, social, programmatic, and traditional media.
- Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages continuous learning, professional growth, and adherence to best practices.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality execution and optimization across all media campaigns.
Media Strategy & Planning:
- Develop, implement, and manage multi-channel media strategies that meet clients' objectives, drive awareness, and increase engagement.
- Guide the team in creating integrated media plans that leverage various platforms, including Programmatic Display & Video, Streaming Audio, Social Media, Google Ads, Digital Out of Home, Television, Radio, Print, and Out of Home advertising.
- Ensure the effective use of advanced targeting techniques, such as geofencing and retargeting, to reach and convert clients' desired audiences.
Programmatic & Digital Media Expertise:
- Oversee programmatic buying, including display, OTT/CTV, and native placements, to maximize reach and impact across individual websites and streaming platforms like Roku, Amazon, and Twitch.
- Lead the team in streaming audio placements across podcasts and smart speakers, ensuring campaigns are both impactful and trackable.
- Drive performance in social media management and advertising, from ad placements to high-profile influencer marketing.
Analytics & Performance Tracking:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of media campaigns, utilizing data from Google Analytics and other tools to track ROI, sales, revenue, and foot traffic.
- Implement comprehensive reporting frameworks to ensure clients receive insightful and actionable performance updates.
- Continuously optimize campaigns based on data insights, shifting tactics to improve performance and achieve client KPIs.
Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for high-level media strategy discussions with clients, providing insights, strategic recommendations, and updates.
- Educate clients on media planning, strategies, and the value of each channel, helping them understand how each effort contributes to overall goals.
- Collaborate with account teams to deliver presentations that clearly communicate campaign strategies, objectives, and results to clients.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date on emerging media trends, technologies, and industry shifts, implementing relevant innovations to keep the agency’s offerings cutting-edge.
- Assess new advertising channels and partnerships to expand the agency’s media capabilities, ensuring a comprehensive approach to client campaigns.
- Drive the development and implementation of best practices across all media channels, ensuring quality, consistency, and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in media planning and buying, with at least 5 years in a leadership or director role.
- Expertise in Programmatic Display & Video, Streaming Audio, Social Media, Google Ads, Out of Home, and traditional media channels.
- Analytical Skills: Strong experience with performance tracking, data analysis, and optimization strategies, including proficiency in Google Analytics and other measurement tools.
- Leadership Ability: Proven experience managing and mentoring a team, with excellent organizational and motivational skills.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex media strategies into clear, client-friendly presentations.
- Client-Centric: Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of building and maintaining client relationships, along with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications in media planning, programmatic, or digital marketing are a plus.

$48.07/hr ($100k annualized equivalent), depending on experience
