Position Overview
As an Associate Media Director, you will help develop and implement integrated media campaigns that deliver against key performance metrics on a variety of MindgruveMacarta accounts. The in-office position is located in Covington, Kentucky and works alongside team members of MindgruveMacarta and Icon Commerce (a MindgruveMacarta company).
An ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the knowledge and energy to not only develop and execute strategic media plans, but also be capable and confident in presenting plans to the client(s), while helping manage a growing media team.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic direction of client media deliverables
- Develop strong and innovative integrated media strategies for clients based on their specific needs
- Manage and mentor a growing team of planners and analysts to ensure client deliverables are completed within the scope of the project
- Manage media budgets, pacing, and tracking to ensure complete delivery while reaching client goals and KPIs
- Develop deep knowledge of clients' business strategy and challenges
- Drive standards of integration with cross agency and client functions
- Harness cross-channel capabilities
- Provide toolset and industry POVs
- Participate in agency new business pitches, as necessary
- Uncover and interpret data to help build strategy and solve business problems
- Vet vendors and media tools, stay on top of industry trends, and share knowledge with internal team and clients
- Help manage a shift to display self-serve programmatic platform(s) for some clients and/or campaigns
Requirements
- A 4-year college degree and 7+ years of media planning and/or buying experience (with at least five years of online experience)
- Working comprehension of strategy development and required media math
- Experience across various mediums required (Digital, Paid Social, Broadcast, Print, OOH)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong presentation skills
- Ability to multitask effectively and organizational skills to manage and prioritize team daily work flow
- Familiarity with CM360 or comparable ad serving technology
- Working knowledge of media research tools (IMS, MRI, Nielsen, ComScore, Simmons, etc.)
- Comprehensive understanding of programmatic media capabilities and buying
- Ability to develop thorough, insightful campaign analysis and optimization recommendations
- Experience overseeing budgeting process
- Ability to build and maintain strong interpersonal and professional relationships with vendors, clients, etc.
- Ability to work on multiple projects at once in a high pressure environment while still meeting deadlines

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Work Location
Our headquarters is based in San Diego, California, with additional offices in Covington, Kentucky and Denver, Colorado. We're seeking local candidates (or those open to relocation) who are able to work collaboratively with us in one of our office's; however, based on business needs and unique job functions, some roles may be eligible for remote work. (Bonus points if you're bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese.)
