Description
The Media Specialist is responsible for the coordination and execution of photo/video digital assets, editing, organization, and submission of book and book plus images to support the sales and marketing of Printers Row Publishing Group's books, as well as proprietary and club titles as requested. The specialist will lead the organization, tagging, and maintenance of all images in PRPG's online image database, PhotoShelter. In this role, the media specialist will lead all administrative and production for offsite photoshoots.
What You Will Be Doing
Photography & Videography
- Using established style guides for reference, set-up, shoot and edit product shots in well-balanced compositions.
- Consistently apply and enforce style and brand guidelines.
- Adjust lighting to reduce shadowing and provide an even tone throughout the composition.
- Using Adobe Photoshop, edit, resize and color correct final images per established guidelines.
- Shoot and edit short video projects using established style guidelines for e-commerce websites as well as social media.
- Develop concepts and shoot short videos for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
- As needed, shoot specialty photos for retailer presentations.
- Act as lead contact to any photography and videography vendors, tracking project details, planning and final product edits.
- The coordinator will pull product samples, develop and update shot lists, support photo research for inspiration/reference shots, and help with set production/prop(s) set-up and break-down.
Media Coordination
- Coordinate all aspects of asset management in PhotoShelter online database.
- Support PRPG staff by providing training for the search and download of photos in PhotoShelter.
- Update and maintain the weekly shot and video list in Microsoft Excel, or on Google Docs.
- Track photo and visual asset planning from initial brainstorming to production, approval, and completion.
- Collect all necessary samples and title advances to shoot from PRPG imprint sample rooms.
- Catalog, file and upload images and digital assets to the appropriate servers.
- Format and upload digital assets to TMM for distribution to 3rd party websites and distributors.
- Responsible for product image updates on all e-retailer sites to ensure accurate covers and images.
- Assist with social media and website reporting on an as needed basis.
- Assist with the development of graphics for marketing, sales or publicity for various materials including presentations, mailers, trade show banners, promotional items, corrugate/POP displays, in store signage, etc.
- Add key information to title database, including marketing bullets and categories.
- Maintain photo studio, including inventory of props and equipment and recommendations for updates.
- Other duties may be assigned, directed, or requested.
What You Will Need
- Associate or bachelor's degree required.
- One (1) to three (3) years of formal photography education, training, or experience required.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, and Premiere is preferred.
- Proficient in using the MAC OS environment.
- Strong to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is preferred.
- Knowledge of principles of photography including camera (Canon) operation and settings, lighting, color balance, composition, and current trends is required.
- Must be able to take direction and apply feedback, as well as to conceptualize, set up, and organize projects independently.
- Project management skills: ability to identify and assess issues and make decisions in a timely manner.
- Problem-solving – the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully, and maintains confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills are required.
- Strong Analytical skill is required.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines is preferred.
- Ability to work under stress in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Knowledge/usage of photo database programs a plus, especially PhotoShelter.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to speak with all levels of the organization and outside partners.
- Familiarity with the publishing industry is beneficial.
- The work performed is in an office environment.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
Salary
$64,000.00 - $67,000.00
