Job Overview
The SVP Investment Lead is responsible for designing and driving the US media investment approach for a large retail account, across all media channels.
The SVP Investment Lead will oversee a large retail account across all channels of media investment, including Publishing (Print & Digital), Digital, Video, Social, Search and OOH. Channel leaders are accountable to the SVP Investment Lead for their strategies and continue to hard-line report into their Discipline leaders. The SVP Investment Lead will create a collaborative structure and approach, allowing each team to go to market in a nimble, forward thinking manner that drives maximum value both vertically and horizontally.
With strong senior relationships in the media community, the SVP Investment plays a lead role with the team to initiate, develop and grow portfolio-driven media partnerships, ensure top-level service is provided and consistently develop market-leading approaches aligned with client needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Marketplace expert and thought leader, providing internal and external POV's
- Actively keep current with industry trends and provide SME POV's directly to clients
- Leverage all objectives, data, spending and understanding to create a set of clear Go-to-Market principles, around which all portfolio-driven partnerships are crafted
- Develop innovative partnership opportunities
- Oversee and lead all Cross Agency negotiations (e.g., Publishing, Video, Digital Upfronts)
- Oversee integration of and investment in advanced and emerging media channels (e.g., VOD, Addressable, Programmatic/Private marketplaces)
- Deliver on channel specific investment & activation goals (e.g., metrics, delivery, price)
- Oversee and accountable for delivery against Productivity requirements across US market Publishing, Video, Digital, Social and OOH channels
- Ensure alignment and integration of key digital media investment components, (e.g., DTP, Performance, Social, eCommerce)
- Build and maintain trusting, collaborative relationships with senior clients
- Provide leadership and coaching to all cross-channel Activation/Investment leads
- Ensure integration, collaboration and aggregation across all agency departments; foster great teamwork to deliver value for clients
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 15 + years of media investment experience (publishing, digital, video) and progressive client management experience
- Unparalleled client service professionalism, maturity, and diplomacy
- Experience in the retail category – or something very translatable
- Strong, senior media relationships in the Publishing, Video and Digital and Performance Digital media community (in order of priority)
- Experience designing and rationalizing large, portfolio-driven media partnerships
- Strong presenter and client manager
- Operationally savvy, knows how to structure multi-disciplinary investment groups to service clients
- Strong understanding of client's business environment and agency service business models
- Excellent negotiation and commercial development skills
- Collaborative and able to successfully bring people from different disciplines, internal and external together to achieve desired outcomes
- Flexibility and ability to build relationships with internal and external teams and partners, including senior level clients and media owners
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $163,000-$263,000. Salary is based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
