INNOCEAN USA, a full-service advertising agency located in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a Director, Digital Media Strategy to join our KIA media team! We are a hybrid work environment, x2 days week in-office. Candidates must be local to SoCal.

Candidate Profile

Our ideal candidate has a minimum 8-10 years digital media or digital strategy experience in an advertising or media agency environment. Automotive category background is preferred but not mandatory. Digital media strategy expertise is a must.

Role Description

We are seeking a dynamic, technically proficient, and inquisitive Director, Digital Media Strategy, who can synthesize complex digital strategies, ask the critical "why" behind decisions, and identify key takeaways amidst a flood of data and noise. This role requires someone with a strong grasp of digital ecosystems and analytics, combined with the ability to distill information into strategic insights. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical expertise to provide clarity, align cross-functional teams, and drive innovation, ensuring high-level business objectives are met.

Responsibilities

Lead the creation and execution of high-level digital strategies, constantly questioning the "why" behind initiatives to ensure alignment with core client business objectives.
Effectively sift through large amounts of data and competing priorities to pinpoint the most critical insights.
Provide leadership in leveraging advanced digital tools and analytics, translating complex technical data into clear, high-level strategies.
Identify opportunities for increased synergy across internal teams, clients, and external partners.
Dive into media performance data with a mindset of uncovering actionable insights that answer "so what?"
Summarize complex reports, findings, and strategies into succinct and actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Lead efforts to question the status quo, driving digital innovation by testing new technologies, methodologies, and tools.
Oversee the development of measurement frameworks that not only track performance but provide clear, insightful takeaways.
Proactively identify challenges within digital execution and deduce the most effective solutions.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum of 8-10 years digital media or digital strategy experience in an advertising or media agency environment.
Proven track record in roles requiring both strategic oversight and technical execution.
Strong ability to question assumptions, filter through data, and identify the most important information for business decision-making.
Technical proficiency in the digital media landscape, including paid media, programmatic, social, and content marketing.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly summarize key insights and actions for diverse stakeholders.
Motivational team member, cultivating a positive, inclusive, and transparent work environment.
Ability to collaborate across teams, align on strategy, and foster synergy between technical and business objectives.
Highly organized and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on the most important takeaways.
Proficiency in digital analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics), and familiarity with CM360 & GA4.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $160,000- $200,000. Pay is dependent upon several factors including but not limited to: client, experience, training and/or transferable skills.
