ABOUT THE ROLE
The Strategic Lead is a pivotal leadership role at Mindshare. This role will be responsible for spearheading innovative media solutions and driving exceptional client outcomes. This role demands a deep understanding of the ever-evolving media landscape, a passion for crafting compelling narratives, and a proven ability to lead and inspire high-performing teams. He/She will also be responsible for leading a small portfolio of clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Strategic Planning & Execution:•Lead the development and execution of cutting-edge media strategies, seamlessly blending traditional and digital channels to achieve client objectives.•Provide expert guidance on media channel selection and budget allocation, ensuring maximum impact and ROI for clients.•Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and inform strategic recommendations.•Stay ahead of the curve on emerging media trends and technologies, proactively recommending innovative solutions to clients.•Develop and implement measurement frameworks to track campaign performance and demonstrate tangible results. Develop full hybrid strategies for clients (current and prospective) when required.•Understand and maintain practical knowledge of tools to apply global and local best practise in strategic output - demonstrating Mindshare tool capability to clients•Create, develop and maintain healthy relationships with all media vendors, in order to benefit from innovation/ best practice opportunities.•Understand all strategic output across the agency in order to be best placed to assist with input/ deck creation/ client queries•Lead by example in terms of strategic excellence through creating strategies/ redefining briefs to create award winning opportunities.
2.Client Relationship Management:•Build and nurture strong, trusted advisor relationships with clients at all levels, becoming a true extension of their team.•Proactively identify and address client needs, providing strategic counsel and solutions that drive their business forward.•Deliver impactful presentations and communication materials, effectively conveying complex information and insights.
3.Team Leadership & Development:•Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of strategic thinkers, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous learning.•Provide clear direction and guidance, setting challenging yet achievable goals and empowering your team to succeed.•Create a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages innovation, creativity, and a passion for excellence.•Be a custodian of information sharing, whether this is informal or formal through the syndication of global/ local information.•Ensure team adoption of tools and frameworks and contribute to developing a curriculum for continuous improvement.
4.Business Development & Growth:•Contribute to new business efforts by developing compelling proposals and participating in pitches.•Identify and pursue organic growth opportunities within existing clients, expanding service offerings and deepening relationships.•Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, proactively seeking opportunities to enhance the agency's offerings and competitive edge.
5.Client Outcomes:
•Serve as a holistic architect of audience engagement i.e., craft and implement comprehensive strategies across paid, owned, and earned channels (POE).•Foster a culture of innovation and invention, constantly exploring new technologies and approaches to reach target audiences effectively.•Develop and refine audience strategy, ensuring campaigns resonate with the right people at the right time.•Champion compelling content strategies that captivate and engage, while also prioritizing sustainability considerations to minimize environmental impact and promote responsible practices.
6.Client Communication Strategy:•Lead the development of comprehensive measurement briefs, outlining clear objectives and KPIs.•Design robust measurement frameworks that track progress and provide actionable insights.•Analyze ROI and brand health performance, ensuring campaigns deliver tangible business results and strengthen brand equity.•Maintain a keen eye on commercial performance, optimizing strategies to maximize efficiency and contribute to the agency's financial success.•Lead the development of advanced Comms Strategy and planning and optimization. techniques to support agency business profitability on key accounts.
Candidate requirements: The ideal candidate will have hands on experience in strategy & client relationships. You will be able to collaborate well internally, and externally to ensure client satisfaction, communicate effectively to articulate ideas and vision, and manage a well organised, efficient and happy team. The following skills and attributes will be essential:• 8+ years of proven experience in a strategic media role, preferably within an agency setting.• Outstanding organisational and time management skills.• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.• Excellent communication and presentation skills.• Experience in Advertising / Marketing / Media• Strong strategic mindset• A proven track record of building and managing strong client relationships• Deep understanding of the media landscape, encompassing both traditional and digital channels, with a strong grasp of emerging trends and technologies.• Demonstrated ability to translate client objectives into actionable media strategies that deliver measurable results.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize data and insights into actionable recommendations.• Passion for the media industry and a commitment to staying ahead of the curve on the latest trends and innovations.
