Director of Laboratory Operations
We are seeking a Director of Laboratory Operations for Focused Ion Beam - Scanning Electron Microscopy (FIB-SEM) for the Department of Structural Biology.

Job Responsibilities
- Develops laboratory policies and standard operating procedures to support efficient operations.
- Continually evaluates laboratory operations and workflow to identify inefficiencies and develops corrective action.
- Develops quality control processes and procedures.
- Provides direction and supervision to laboratory staff.
- Manages capital purchasing and budgeting objectives.
- Develops mechanisms for monitoring expenses.
- Reviews and approves purchasing requests.
- Oversees the design, construction, equipping of laboratories.
- Oversees preventative maintenance and repair to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Orders new and replacement equipment.
- Monitors and maintains inventory of supplies.
- Develops compliance and safety policies and procedures.
- Investigates and resolves non-compliance issues.
- Oversees laboratory research.
- Works closely with the Principal Investigator to develop and direct the activities within the laboratory.
- Interfaces with research staff within the laboratory, providing direct supervision to staff as required.
- Evaluates test results.
- Evaluates, recommends, and implements new procedures, reagents, and instruments.
- Performs other related duties as assigned in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education and/or Training
Bachelor's degree is required.
Minimum Experience
- Ten (10) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a Bachelor's degree.
- Eight (8) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a Master's degree.
- Six (6) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a PhD.
- Management experience is required.

Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $114,400 - $216,320 per year for the role of Director of Laboratory Operations for Focused Ion Beam - Scanning Electron Microscopy (FIB-SEM).
