Job Description
The Director, Investment & Activation is responsible for recommending and developing digital solutions that successfully integrate with traditional media activity and help deliver client goals. Through partnership with the Brand Team business leads, the Director, Investment & Activation, will develop channel solutions that drive business results. This position will be responsible for building trust and maintaining client relationships, presenting agency capabilities, preparing and winning approval for long-term strategies and short-term media plans.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute comprehensive digital media strategies across multiple accounts, ensuring alignment with client objectives and business goals.
Client Relationship Management
- Act as the senior point of contact for key clients, fostering strong, long-term partnerships, driving client satisfaction, and identifying opportunities for account growth.
Team Management & Development
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Supervisors, Buyers, and Assistants, fostering high performance and professional growth.
- Champion collaboration and innovation, creating an environment that supports entrepreneurship and teamwork.
Digital Expertise & Innovation
- Stay ahead of digital trends, technologies, and platforms to deliver innovative and effective solutions.
- Lead the adoption of emerging opportunities, advanced publisher negotiations, and creative media strategies to enhance campaign impact.
Campaign Performance & Analytics
- Oversee the performance of digital media campaigns, ensuring KPIs are achieved or surpassed.
- Provide actionable insights and strategic recommendations based on thorough analysis of campaign data.
Partnership & Collaboration
- Collaborate with the VP, Investment & Activation, on partnership strategies, rate negotiations, and vendor relationships, driving efficiencies and cost savings.
- Work closely with Brand teams to align on campaign strategies and execution.
New Business Development
- Collaborate with the VP, Investment & Activation to drive agency growth by identifying new business opportunities, participating in pitches, and developing innovative solutions for prospective clients.
Operational Excellence
- Spearhead process improvements and operational management across digital channels, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
- Advocate for data-driven decision-making, advanced analytics, and the integration of best-in-class tools and platforms.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Knowledge and Skills Required
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in overall work experience in related position or Digital Planning role.
- Deep understanding of digital channels, including programmatic, social, mobile, search, and emerging media
- Proven track record of success in managing large-scale digital campaigns for top-tier brands.
- Strong negotiation skills across markets and formats
- Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and organize open items for self and staff
- Ability to integrate and work successfully with various Agency teams, handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines under pressure
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including math proficiency
- Demonstrate strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Strong understanding of basic media planning terms and concepts such as, ROI, reach and frequency
- Experience with performance media, measurement tools, and ROI-driven marketing.
