Who We're Looking For
The Media Planner/Buyer is responsible for planning and implementing paid media efforts on behalf of assigned agency clients. This strategically minded media expert will craft recommendations to engage audiences and drive brand interactions. They work closely with other agency leads to architect connected experiences across all online and offline channels and align paid, owned and earned media efforts.
What Our Media Planner / Buyer Will Do Once They're Here
- Develop comprehensive media strategies and detailed tactical plans aligned with clients' marketing objectives, target audiences, and budgets.
- Ensure integrated media plans are on strategy and align with integrated efforts across paid, owned and earned marketing efforts.
- Conduct research to identify optimal media strategies, channels, tactics, and partners.
- Create targeting strategies to effectively and efficiently reach and engage audiences along the buyer journey.
- Present media plans, insights, and performance reports to clients, addressing questions and providing strategic recommendations.
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and changes in media consumption habits.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with media vendors to secure competitive rates and added value opportunities.
- Negotiate and purchase advertising space across various media partners and platforms.
- Lead implementation of paid media plans partnering with Media Specialists and Media Coordinators to manage all facets of plan execution, including media authorizations, insertion orders, flowcharts, creative asset trafficking, ad serving, 3rd party vendor management, timelines, reporting and optimization, billing and budget reconciliation and campaign troubleshooting for assigned accounts.
- Work with account teams and other agency subject matter experts to develop measurement plans for campaign tracking, analysis and reporting based on media objectives and established KPIs.
- Analyze the performance of paid media campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
What Our Media Planner / Buyer Will Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience required
- 3+ years of agency or related marketing experience planning, executing, and analyzing paid media campaigns
- Experience with all forms of media including, but not limited to, paid search, digital, print, broadcast, and outdoor
- Strong understanding of all aspects of media planning and buying, including campaign planning, negotiation, purchasing, budget management, scheduling and trafficking, data analysis, optimization and reporting
- Experience in Google Ads, Google Analytics, and Campaign Manager
- Experience with media buying platforms is a plus (e.g., STRATA/FreeWheel, Media Ocean, Galeforce)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable rates
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Effective presentation skills for sharing strategic and tactical plans to clients, staff, and internal teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
