Job Description
The Department of Fine and Performing Arts seeks an Adjunct Professor in the Visual Communication and Digital Media Arts (VCDMA) program, Animation and Motion Graphics concentration. Primary responsibilities include:
- Teaches courses in 2D/3D animation, character design, storyboarding, rigging, and/or motion graphics
- Assists with management of computer graphics and digital media labs, studios, and classrooms
- Could serve as Internship Coordinator
- Provides instruction for undergraduate courses in animation and motion graphics
- Contributes to scholarly activities in the Visual Communication & Digital Media Arts major
- Serves the College of Arts & Sciences through committee participation
- Participates in student advising and VCDMA program support
- Attends VCDMA and DFPA events, screenings, exhibitions, and recruitment efforts
Minimum Qualifications
- MFA preferred in Animation, Motion Graphics, or related field
- Background in teaching 2D/3D animation, motion graphics, storyboarding, animatics, character design, rigging
- 5-10 years of animation production studio and industry experience
- Minimum three years of undergraduate teaching experience
- Experience with diverse student populations
- Proficiency in software including Toon Boom Harmony, Storyboard Pro, Cinema 4D, Autodesk Maya, Adobe Creative Cloud
