OverviewThe Account Director will provide strategic leadership and guidance to both the media team and assigned client accounts, conceptualizing and guiding innovative results-driven strategies grounded in data and insight.
Responsibilities- Leads and oversees plan recommendations, coordination, and execution ensuring use of best practices are followed across all client deliverables.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of client business
- Actively listens to clients and continually identifies opportunities that have the potential to drive growth, and, at the same time, is able to professionally and persuasively push back and redirect clients when necessary
- Provides thought leadership to colleagues, clients and projects which may include gathering information, consumer research, marketing & strategic planning
- Continually assesses the competitiveness of the team practices against competition, industries and markets
- Ensures current staff is fully utilized and operating effectively to meet client needs within budget
- Participates in new business and in the overall management of departmental operations
- Takes a lead role in recruitment of new staff and make hiring recommendations for team
- Coach, develop and mentor team members
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from a three-year college or university program and/or
- 8 years of progressive levels of responsibility in media planning, buying and management
- Experience on digital and performance-based accounts in fast-moving categories
- Demonstrated business acumen and a track record of success in the media services profession
- Challenges traditional boundaries and demonstrates consistent creative approaches to business problems
- Able to establish and manage to P&L statement
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong negotiating skills
- A keen sense of curiosity
- Solid interpersonal and teamwork abilities
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilities
- Strong analytical abilities
- Strong command of media research and reporting resources
