About Marketing Sector
At DLR Group, the Marketing team provides strategic support in pursuit of new opportunities and the development of marketing materials. By leveraging a deep understanding of market trends and client needs, the team highlights the firm's expertise and resonate with prospective clients.
Position Summary
The Media Manager develops and implements strategic public relations plans to raise awareness of DLR Group design expertise with Justice + Civic audiences in support of sector strategies and growth goals. They collaborate with sector marketing leaders, sector design teams, and subject matter experts to raise awareness of DLR Group design within client vertical trade media, and with key trade groups and sector influencers.
Responsibilities
- Support designated sector marketing plans by developing and executing a PR calendar and activity.
- Bring a keen understanding of the current media landscape and how to forge relationships with trade, consumer, news, and digital media contacts.
- Establish a high bar for sharp ideas, flawless execution, and measurable results from integrated marketing campaigns.
- Be a creative person who can "think on their feet" beyond the traditional approach to PR and exploit opportunities within new media.
- Develop workable budgets, work plans, and realistic timetables, and lead productive meetings.
- Research, write, proofread, and edit media and communications content.
- Establish KPIs for media activities and measures of success for media outreach and marketing campaigns.
- Leverage deep understanding of sector(s) client universe needs to proactively identify evolving issues and drive compelling pitches that connect with identified target audiences.
- Record discovered project and people information, as well as media placements and mentions, in firm database to ensure institutional knowledge.
- Champion brand standards, voice, and style into all marketing content.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in integrated marketing communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field
- 7+ years of marketing communications experience in a professional services environment, preferably the AEC industry, with progressive responsibilities
- Proven ability to independently manage pitch calendar, content production, and approval
- Demonstrated track record of measurably high-impact media placements
- Excellent time-management skills and a sense of urgency to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent deadlines
- Strategic thinker with exceptional communication, writing, and editing skills, with the ability to articulate a point of view on complex issues in clear, concise communications
- Keen understanding of integrating marketing tactics with traditional and social media as part of communications campaigns to attract, engage, convert, and retain clients and talent
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Proficiency in Muckrack or similar public relations management (PRM) software for press contact and pitch management
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships and navigate cross functionally across different firm teams and with outside partners
- Strong project and people management skills; ability to quickly build consensus, and positively 'manage up' to get senior level individuals to support established processes with input and insight in a timely manner
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign; familiarity with information recording and gathering from a database such as Deltek Vantagepoint
Compensation
Pay Range: $60,000 - $85,000 USD
