OverviewThe Paid Search Director will have responsibility for the growth, management, retention, and satisfaction of a portfolio of key accounts. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead clients strategically and tactically in search marketing. They will oversee a team in the conception and delivery of innovative, business-building, search marketing solutions to include organic and paid optimization, evolving search platforms, and advanced analytics. The Director will also provide engagement leadership, develop senior level client relationships, and will serve as an expert and trusted advisor to assigned clients. Proven account management, leadership, and experience in an agency environment is essential.
ResponsibilitiesProduct
- Overall control of workflow and assigned responsibilities within their group. They will oversee the progress of all projects and provide assistance, where necessary, to assure timely completion of projects.
- Ensure projects are produced completely, correctly, and efficiently.
- Set strategic principles for client search initiatives based on objectives
- Develop action plans for achieving and measuring campaign success including determining key metrics and processes for measurement and optimization
- Evaluate and recommend full spectrum of search alliances, including all appropriate partners, search platforms, bid and campaign management tools
- Work with strategic planning, digital planning and outside ad agencies to ensure paid search complements all client marketing activity
- Keep clients and agency counterparts informed on latest developments in the industry
- Grow agency paid search business through new business wins and organic client growth
- Involved in client and inter-agency education of paid search and will be responsible for developing intellectual capital, including best practices, case studies, and official agency points-of-view

Clients
- Provide effective long-term strategic guidance and counsel to include:
- Master, identify, and communicate overall trends in search and those related to client industries
- Define and evaluate client(s) competition online, as well as how it relates to their search initiatives
- Establish appropriate account staffing, scope of services, and fee proposals
Qualifications- 8-10 years of progressive levels of digital media and search marketing expertise
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills
- Ideally, 3+ years’ experience in focused search marketing disciplines
- Experience in both organic and paid search
- Experience in applying search marketing to brand-building and direct response initiatives
- Strong command of search engine research and reporting resources
- Knowledge of syndicated research tools such as ComScore, HitBox, AdGooroo, etc.
- Deep experience with at least one major bid management tool
- Demonstrated business acumen and a track record of success in the media/marketing services profession
- Solid interpersonal and teamwork abilities
- Ability to lead the new business development process and demonstrated ability to win new clients
- Ability to build, lead, and strengthen client relationships
- Healthy senior relationships with key industry partners and search engines

Compensation Range: $119,510 - $188,025 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
