OverviewRole Summary
This is a freelance Senior Experience Designer position slated through the end of this year.
My craft: I take ownership of the UX artifacts for projects and work closely with other team members as well as other disciplines to create extraordinary digital experiences. As a mid-size team craft lead, I confidently present to clients and serve as a design thinking expert across products/platforms and content/campaign. Skilled in all aspects of experience design, I have a growing reputation for expertise in areas such as experience strategy, user testing, IA/content strategy, deep prototyping, and UI design/interaction design.
My sweet spot: I collaborate with all other disciplines and understand the dependencies that impact design and development throughout the project life cycle.

- Confidently articulates and defends rationale for approach in the context of both business and user needs
Individual Contribution
- Supports and validates estimation of relevant deliverables based on project requirements, timelines and resources.
- Leads by example with craft that shows focused, well-organized approach to XD artifacts relevant to project with an attention to detail.
- Leads definition and execution of competitive reviews and heuristic evaluations and immersive activities.
- Leads documentation of current and future state experiences through the following XD artifacts: sitemaps, user/screen flows, wireframes, journey maps and personas.
- Supports or leads ideation/exploration, sketching concepts and prototypes for wide range of digital touchpoints that may be governed by an existing design system for client or marketing tech platform.
- Takes direction from Associate Experience Design Directors or above on larger projects.
- Excellent knowledge and practice of usability testing to gain qualitative & quantitative data insights.
- Completes MPC self-reviews
- Stays focused, manages time effectively and meets deadlines. Inputs time consistently in RoAR.
Team Leadership
- Balances supporting or leading multiple projects while managing allocation time effectively.
- Highly collaborative with leads from strategy, visual design, content strategy, copy and technology.
- Actively facilitates cross-disciplinary idea generation sessions and client reviews.
- Able to challenge scope of deliverables and process within project based with rationale to guide team.
- Able to lead translation of internal and client feedback and make updates and/or delegate minor updates to support team.
- Fosters collaboration, participation and trust with client through quality work, sound rationale and pro-active critical thinking
- Receptive to constructive criticism and able to explain ’why’ behind designs to both internal leadership and clients.
- Actively sharing best practices, design trends and relevant market research to team and peers.
QualificationsQualifications
Education
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction or industrial design preferred.
- Not required but helpful to have a degree in a related field, such as library science, graphic design, animation or architecture considered. Minor in Marketing, E-commerce, Psychology, English, History, Anthropology a plus.
- Certification programs, workshops and/or bootcamps also considered with 5+ years of professional experience with both agency and consulting companies.
Experience
- Multiple years of professional practice of experience design demonstrated in the following areas: complex software UX/UI patterns (B2B/B2C) for marketing tech platforms, retail oriented transactional or ecommerce experiences, familiar with web3 UX/UI design patterns.
- Able to lead small teams and operate seamlessly within medium to large-sized teams, preferably in a cross disciplinary digital agency.
- Highly proficient at creating and adapting XD artifacts and deliverables to project based on constraints.
- Excellent knowledge and practices of agile and waterfall methodologies, responsive web, atomic design and design systems.
- Proficient in translating business requirements into communication artifacts to align team and client.
- Deep knowledge in one or many key specialty areas of XD with proficiency in two or more.

Compensation Range: $49 - $86/hr. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. This role may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met.
