What you’ll do:
- Strategy Development & Execution: Ensuring a strong understanding of the overall client strategy and business objectives.
- Be seen as a subject matter expert in paid search marketing for our clients, responsible for driving improved campaign performance, supporting all marketing and digital channel efforts to ensure a consistent approach to winning in paid search.
- Evaluate current SEM account set up, developing new strategies to increase performance.
- Manage the day-to-day search business of clients, responding to questions from internal teams and clients.
- Daily, weekly, and monthly optimizations including writing of ad copy, evaluating ad formats and ad groups as well as implementing negative keywords and bidding strategies.
- Regular analyses of Google Analytics and landing pages to determine impact on overall search results and web traffic.
- Ability to direct site tagging strategy, and successfully manage cost per acquisition campaigns.
- Ensure proper controls are in place for campaigns to deliver as expected and any performance challenges are identified and addressed early.
- SEO audits and implementation plans.
- Ability to provide basic audit of client’s current SEO and providing recommendations to optimize.
- Work with Manager on the implementation of SEO strategies and tactics.
- Ongoing tracking of changes month over month and reporting back to planners/clients.
- Communication & Collaboration: Keeping Directors and Account leads informed by ensuring they are copied on all correspondence affecting the client.
- Work cross functionally with marketing, creative on messaging and timing of campaign launches.
- Work with cross functional data analysts to develop reports and insights for key business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Brand and Demand Generation team members to knowledge share and ensure the progress of our Centre of Excellence.
- Present findings and make recommendations based on historical campaign performance.
- Managing Colleagues, Process, and the Search Product: Manage a small team of SEM specialists supporting the LCL Enterprise in planning, executing and measuring success of campaigns.
- Ensuring that process and communication is efficient and accurate between planning teams and search teams.
- Work within analytics & reporting platforms such as GA360, Omniture Analytics, Google Data Studio, etc.
- Manage and optimize Shopping campaigns which includes monitoring product feeds.
- Work with the team to develop audience segmentation strategies based not only on remarketing, but also on 1st & 3rd party data – for maximum relevancy & ideally to drive action.
- Create and implement testing opportunities to showcase value add of search marketing efforts to campaigns and to the overall business. Bonus if you can measure incrementality.
- Establish deadlines and following up to meet deadlines.
- Educating agency colleagues on the search landscape and pertinent technical issues – training planners etc. where appropriate/requested.
- Inspire and motivate team members to perform at their best and strive for continuous improvement.
- Provide regular feedback and coaching to support individual growth and professional development.
- Monitor team and individual performance, identifying areas for improvement and providing constructive feedback.
- Conduct performance reviews and set development plans to help team members reach their full potential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Business, Marketing).
- 7-10+ years of experience in a Paid Search Role.
- 7-10+ years of experience in a leading a team.
- Knowledge of bid management tools including Search Ads 360.
- An analytical thinker with an ability to effectively turn reporting and analysis into actionable insights and execution plans.
- Ability to develop a POV and implications based on data, and present findings to key stakeholders.
- Collaborative and positive attitude with passion for questioning assumptions and answering questions with data, to unlock value for the enterprise.
- Self-directed, proactive, and able to define and execute projects independently.
- Strong in Excel and reporting automation / experience using Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Google Data Studio or equivalent).
- Google Ads Certified.
- Possess a passion for the paid search ecosystem and a deep knowledge of its available tools, including auction insights & search trends.
