Overview
Are you looking to join a team of media experts, in one of the UK’s best-known high-street retailers, with one of the UK’s largest 1st Party datasets? Are you passionate about the ever-evolving media industry and want to be part of a team driving that change? We're looking for an experienced Media Manager to own the paid media strategy for our Healthcare business unit, to help assert Boots as the leading Healthcare provider. This role sits in the Media Strategy and Planning team, who are responsible for delivering best in class media activations across our three core business units; Beauty, Healthcare and General Merchandise. The role reports into the Head of Media Strategy and Planning and works closely alongside the Performance Media team, with both teams reporting into the Omni-Media Director. The role will have a Media Specialist reporting directly into it.
Key responsibilities
- Delivering effective media plans using insight, customer journeys, performance data and analytics
- Working closely with the media agency to manage end to end process, from briefing to feedback to implementation to review
- Working with analytics teams to measure and report on campaign & channel performance; ensuring KPIs are in place for all activities
- Working closely with the creative and content teams to ensure media assets are optimised across channels and adhere to creative best practise; collaborating with media owners to support with this
- Driving meaningful innovation; identifying new, innovative ways of reaching and connecting with customers and maximising new and existing relationships with key media owners
- Managing budget allocation and reconciliation across channels to ensure every penny is spent responsibly and ensuring that the investment will deliver real strategic impact
What you’ll need to have
- Demonstrable expertise in paid media channels, particularly across addressable media; strong knowledge of ATL channels as well as social/digital channels
- Media planning experience client or agency side, at a similar level, working on retail and/or consumer businesses
- History in successfully delivering effective omni-channel communication plans with proven results (ideally gained on retail brands)
- Experience of managing media agencies and working in close collaboration with creative and content teams.
- Curious, proactive & innovative mindset that will dig into challenges as they come up and identify new opportunities for the business

- Interest in data and analytics and strong commercial acumen – not being afraid of a spreadsheet!
- Interest in the Healthcare sector and experience of working with a brand in this sector
- Understanding of media measurement tools, such as MMM
