Job Description
The Media Director at 9Rooftops will lead a team of media professionals on specific client account(s), ensuring delivery of effective, innovative, and strategic solutions across traditional, digital and emerging media platforms to meet or, ideally, exceed client objectives. This will entail creating and executing media plans, uncovering insights to inform media plan development, and ensuring faultless execution on all fronts.
As the Media Director, you will be responsible for cultivating a strong team dynamic, training new and experienced media team members, and gaining the respect and trust of their client partners. The ideal candidate will be an established media leader with a demonstrated track record of translating a vision for the team into strategic insights and effective media solutions that deliver on client goals. The Media Director at 9Rooftops demonstrates self-confidence in championing innovative, bold, and game-changing ideas, and will report directly to the Group Media Director.
*Must be located in South Carolina (either remote or based out of the Hilton Head Island/Bluffton office)
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manages the process of development, negotiation, implementation, tracking, reporting, and optimization of all media plans for assigned accounts.
- Manage and mentor a team of media professionals, providing guidance and coaching to achieve goals and drive performance.
- High client visibility; establishes a true partnership in client business by gaining and maintaining a deep understanding of business priorities and challenges.
- Anticipates and addresses client challenges, and acts as the primary liaison and consultant to clients on media matters.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including creative, strategy, and analytics, to ensure media plans align with overall marketing objectives.
- Identify and communicate key media deliverables in terms of accountability and performance, building corresponding internal and external timelines.
- Aggressively stay abreast in current media landscape to conduct market research and analyze industry trends to inform media strategies and drive innovation.
- Oversee media budget and ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
- Analyze and report on media performance, making data-driven recommendations for optimization and continuous improvement.
- Stay current on emerging media and technology trends, identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.
- Actively participate in new business pitches, as determined by the CEO.
- Maintains strong client/vendor relations to develop comprehensive media plans that successfully accomplish their goals by monitoring progress and accuracy of all communication plans, assignments, and projects.
- Work with CFO on financial aspects of the media budget, staffing, projections, etc.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 + years experience as a media leader.
- Exceptional written, verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees, vendors, and clients.
- Ability to write concise, reasoned, and inspired media presentations.
- Extensive Knowledge of media planning and activation tools: Vivvix Insights, Pathmatics, Simmons/MRI/Scarborough, Nielsen MarketMate, SQAD, eMarketer.
- Experience in Prisma, Google Platform (Campaign Manager 360, Google Ads, GA4), Meta Platform, preferred.
- A proven track record of demonstrating sound creative, strategic, and analytical thinking skills, and championing innovative, bold and game-changing ideas.
- Demonstrated understanding of consumer insights and how to action them.
- Skilled negotiator in digital ad standards (view-ability standards, audience verification and fraud protection).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Some travel and after hours and work required.
- Experience in all forms of traditional and non-traditional media, including but not limited to print, broadcast, digital, social platforms, and emerging technologies.
