Walmart Connect (the ad sales arm for Walmart) is dedicated to driving measurable outcomes for our suppliers, merchants, stores, GMs, brand advertisers, and agencies. Our full funnel ad solutions leverage Walmart’s in-store and online data, extensive reach, and as a result, is able to provide measurable results for our partners.
Role Overview
As the Manager, Sponsored Product within the Ad Product & Operations team, you will collaborate with peers in Sales, demand generation, web analytics, tech partners and vendors, and experimentation to advance our product offering and ensure we are delivering always to the best of our ability. You will be responsible for the implementation of daily management and optimization of Sponsored Product campaigns. This position will work closely with our tech partners, dedicated resources, and sales team to ensure that we are meeting our goals and exceeding expectations.
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating project management excellence and implementing effective product workflow. The ideal candidate will be actively monitoring campaign success and best practices as well as bringing forward options around opportunity to the various stakeholders. The breadth and complexity of Sponsored Product cannot be understated. Responsibility will also involve being the bridge between the various stakeholders and teams, ensuring that communication is thorough and optimal.
Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Campaign Management, the ideal candidate for this role is analytical, detail, results-oriented, has excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic. You’re a highly motivated self-starter with a deep understanding of both advertiser and shopper needs, competitive landscape, and understand how to deliver an amazing experience for customers. You’re an excellent communicator, building strong cross functional relationships through collaboration and innovative thinking.
What You'll Do
- Be hands on - Leverage Sponsored Product Platform to have an overview of activity and performance.
- Own the day-to-day management and optimization of assigned Sponsored Product campaigns, ensuring that campaign KPIs and objectives are met both near and long term.
- Pulls and analyzes campaign performance reports to inform daily optimizations and testing recommendations.
- Prepare research and insights to inform ongoing media recommendations.
- Build and maintain a close relationship with our vendor partners.
- Monitor dashboards to ensure campaigns are delivery and pacing successfully.
- Coordinates all aspects of the Walmart Connect digital product development lifecycle, including project scoping, project plan development, project tracking, change management, monitoring and reporting through the application of proven project management principles and methodologies.
- Use critical thinking skills to anticipate and manage potential risks that will arise.
- Communicate these to the stakeholders on a regular basis and ensure decisions are made quickly and effectively.
- Identify new opportunities to share with the various stakeholders.
- Help lead discussion on a consistent basis with sales teams and Sr leadership.
- Manages communication, ensuring that the best practices are being met and that campaigns are pro-actively set up for success.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Mathematics, Engineering or Economics, with a sound understanding of data analytics.
- 3+ years’ experience implementing customer campaigns and strategies with a deep knowledge of search and auction-based environment, measurement methodologies and ad buying platforms.
- A strong understanding of digital marketing channels, how they work, how they can be integrated, and how to measure performance across those channels.
- Hands-on experience with Criteo platform a big plus.
- Good understanding of Ad technology and auction-based environments.
- Google / Adobe Analytics and media buying platforms (ex. Google, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.).
- Experience with Retail media online experience a plus.
- Proven ability to create and deliver persuasive presentations, POV statements, strategic and operational recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational, problem solving, and analysis skills combined with the ability to synthesize and effectively communicate findings to all levels throughout the organization.
- Self-directed, proactive, and able to define and execute projects independently.
