Your New Role
The Director of Performance Media Strategy will play a crucial role in our business by guiding the deployment of media investments with direct, measurable impact on subscriber acquisition and retention. Working with local, regional and global teams to execute the media buys, this role will set budgets and strategies to maximize the impact of our investments, and partner with data science to develop robust models and metrics to quantify the value created. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader focused on achieving marketing excellence and delivering measurable results across WBD Latin America, with a strong background in performance media planning and a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across multiple teams.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Develop and execute media strategies aligned with business goals, emphasizing measurable ROI.
- Guide creative and title strategies around lower funnel campaigns, working closely with multiple stakeholders across the organization.
- Understand and apply attribution models to assess the effectiveness of different media channels, including validation testing to ensure maximum incremental impact.
- Conduct A/B and multivariate tests to refine media tactics, budget allocation, channel selection, creative formats, title selection and others to improve performance.
- Combine quantitative and qualitative analyses to identify critical factors driving the impact of media investments (e.g., creative execution, content calendar, seasonality, pricing changes, competitive environment, etc.).
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance, adjusting media plans as needed to maximize effectiveness; identify key performance indicators and set business rules to guide decision-making.
- Collaborate with global and regional buying teams to define optimal workflows for campaign execution.
- Align strategic goals with leadership to balance competing objectives like subscriber growth, revenue growth and earnings growth, as well as short-term vs. long-term targets.
- Manage and mentor a team of analysts and planners, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Drive innovation in marketing practices and techniques based on data-driven insights; continuously evaluate and improve processes for greater efficiency and impact.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, data science or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a role focused on performance media/marketing ROI, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong analytical skills including ability to interpret complex data, deal with ambiguous and incomplete information, and translate conclusions into actionable recommendations.
- In-depth knowledge of media industry and/or direct-to-consumer operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to summarize and present complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Proficiency in marketing analytics tools and software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite and advanced visualization tools (Looker, Tableau).
