What You'll Do & Who You Are
As our EVP you are responsible for running a business division with Night Market based on a unique to HMI capability and talent with the purpose of growing incremental and profitable revenue. Managing a high growth rate while finding efficiencies in running the business. Setting the agenda for what the modern Commerce Media practice can be and then making it happen. Nurturing purposeful relationships with various senior and executive level leadership at Night Market, Clients, Partners, and Horizon Media. Must have proven leadership in digital activation, retail media and marketplaces, as well as a track record of successfully building business growth across a broad mix of clients.
The EVP Commerce Media will be responsible for 1) becoming a key part of the leadership team at Night Market, 2) delivering explosive growth through new business, 3) building and leading the Commerce Media practice within Night Market, 4) cultivating successful and growing client relationships, 5) resource management and team oversight of the Commerce Media department, and 6) collaborating with our retail media platform, NEON.
You will build a yearly plan to aggressively grow client revenue at a profitable level. This involves securing next year’s revenue with existing clients, forecasting new revenue, and planning staffing needs. You will revisit your business plan on a quarterly basis to make sure you are delivering and proactively planning for possible changes.
You have made a name for yourself leading cutting edge digital media investment across all platforms. There is no one in the room smarter than you about activating full-funnel digital media. You have leveraged your experience to move into retail media, and our Walmart and Amazon reps would be so excited with you joining our team.
You must not only create a strategic vision but bring the vision to life through operations. You’re able to interpret feedback into action with a plan. This voice is important among agency leadership as well as our clients to ensure there’s unification and an understanding of what a “win” looks like.
You will be responsible for a diverse team of business leaders. You will continue to fuel the fast growth of this team and provide leadership so that the team can deliver against revenue, client satisfaction, culture, and performance goals. You’re an empathetic leader who is nurturing in their approach to growing their team and colleague for mutual success.
In addition to running the Commerce Media business at NM, you are fueled by a strong business acumen and superior client service skills, specifically:
50% Pitching, Winning, and Leading New Business:
- Pitch, Win & Grow with a “land & expand” client business both within existing HMI Clients and net new to HMI
- Lead a 92% Commerce Media 2025 growth goal, with support from the Night Market New Business team
- Lead pitches to build/write out RFP answers, present our responses, create POVs, capabilities summaries
- Drive growth with Horizon clients (existing and new) through embedding Commerce Media capabilities and points of difference across relevant RFPs
40% Commerce Media Department & Client Leadership:
- You are THE leader of Commerce Media, which includes media strategy, planning and consulting, channel (storefront) management, audience and performance strategy
- Building strong/enduring relationships with senior clients to navigate the “good” & “bad” times as trusted partners
- Set a high level of strategy and activation across our retail media accounts and Le with key retail partners to ensure we are unlocking the most value
- Lead all digital media on non-Horizon Media clients we win.
- Build a highly efficient digital media activation capability as we win non-Horizon Media clients
- Onboard new clients, establish teams, process, timelines, SLAs, etc.
- Collaborate with senior leadership within Night Market and Horizon to establish and grow our Commerce Media offering
5% Product Strategy & Productization
- Provide product feedback and roadmap direction to the development of NEON
- Oversee the implementation of incorporating NEON into strategic recommendations, optimization and measurement from a commerce strategy perspective
- Build a model to support NEON through account services provided by Commerce Media
5% Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and oversee team operations, including allocations and utilization
- Manage senior level talent to lead and grow key clients
- Be the point of escalation for projects and deliverables, and reprioritize based on business need
- Build optimal scopes to adequately service client business, and maintain profitability
- Identify roles and practice areas that will best service the team to (1) sustain long term growth but also (2) fulfill client immediate need
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
- 15+ years leadership in digital media activation; operating in a large fast-moving agency
- 10+ years Retail Media/Shopper Marketing experience
- Industry leader in commerce-oriented business functions such as demand forecasting, pricing, promotions, cart management, order management, fulfillment, payments, returns/refunds, liquidation, reviews, content
- Strong analytical skills managing large amounts of data and ability to turn insights into actions. Exposure to machine learning practices. Curious and wanting to seek the truth in data
- Experience in presenting and winning over senior clients. Excellent communication and social skills. Proven track record of building compelling presentations that excite and move clients forward
- Strong storytelling and written skills; go beyond the “what we do” to “why it matters”
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to convey and package technical findings in layman’s terms
- Expert in negotiating and constructing business development plans, with understanding of revenue and profitability
- Deep knowledge in eRetailer (Walmart, Target, Kroger), marketplaces (Amazon, Instacart) and retailer media (Criteo)
- Deep knowledge in digital media activation including search, social, CTV, display

Salary Range
$200,000.00 - $500,000.00
A successful applicant’s actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure/certifications, and equity.
