The Digital Media Senior Director (Retail Media Monetization) will be the go-to Retail Media Network expert, leading strategic management of a retail media network (RMN) engagement as well as growth for New Stream Media. You will act as the central hub of collaboration and retail media expertise across several departments/resources including senior level colleagues at dentsu, leading decision making with an eye for driving profitable innovation on behalf of your RMN client. You will work directly with senior level business leaders at your RMN client, in an embedded team model. You will translate media-led strategies into actionable business insights for your Retail Media Network client. You will be responsible for monetization and go to market strategy, roadmap initiatives and planning for innovation, organizational ways of working design, and B2B2C strategy. You will contribute to New Stream Media product and solution development and business strategy. This is a position ideally for someone with experience in the Retail Media Network, eRetail, and/or consumer packaged goods segment. You will lead a team of direct reports and indirect reports (through a matrixed organization) and report into a VP.
New Stream Media is dentsu's specialty retail media practice that is purpose-built for retailers that are building, scaling, and managing retail media network (RMN) businesses. We are a services-based business that provide our RMN clients teams in media sales, account management, media planning and activation, audience strategy and analytics, creative, and billing. We are flexible in our operating models with clients – staffing embedded in-house teams as well as in strategic consultation. We are end-to-end experts from consulting through to activation and have been doing this work at scale longer than any other agency partner.
You will:
- Work with Retail Media Network client teams to identify and understand their needs, campaign performance, including planning and optimization.
- Lead the development and execution of market strategies for eRetail channels on high volume of accounts, larger scale client/Media programs.
- Own and manage monetization tools for your retail media network client like a rate card, margin tracking, and business case forecasting
- Develop strategic roadmaps and test plans, orchestrating across all functional groups to ensure holistic management and delivery
- Develop and deliver client-facing materials, such as presentations, Point of Views, business cases, and playbooks.
- Provide management and coaching of Managers and Analysts supporting your account and provide constructive feedback to aid in their growth. Oversee performance evaluations.
- Monitor and share industry news, online marketing trends, industry tools, and internal cross-team insights
- Support growth / sales efforts for New Stream Media
- Deliver consultative messaging (both written and verbal) to senior leaders in an articulate and strategic manner
Qualifications
- 10+ years experience within digital media agency function and/or digital media vendor/ad technology platform with a focus on eRetail, Retail Media Networks, or CPG
- Experience with B2B2C market dynamics in retail media
- Past proficiency within Paid Social Platforms (Facebook/Instagram Power Editor, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat, and LinkedIn Ads)
- Past proficiency within DSPs to run Video & Display (Google's DV360, MediaMath, Amazon DSP, Verizon/Oath, TTD)
- Ideal to have in-platform execution / working knowledgein Walmart Connect, Target's Roundel, Criteo, InstaCart, etc.
- Proficient user of digital ads trafficking tools (DCM and/or GAM)
- Proficient Excel (can perform complex functions)
- Digital media strategy and plan development
- Experience against several media buying strategies; self-service, managed buyer, partner negotiations
- Demonstrated collaborative approach to success through partnerships
- Ability to draw conclusions and create strategic recommendations based on data analysis and findings
- Client management, consultative selling skills, and the ability to interact at all levels of management, including the executive level, to advocate and influence direction
- Experience managing, developing and hiring talent
Additional Information
The anticipated salary range for this position is $136,000-$219,650. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
