Job Description
This role requires an individual with a strong analytical mindset, in-depth industry knowledge, and a passion for innovation in media strategies. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients, internal teams, and media partners to drive measurable business outcomes and optimize media spend.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and lead the media planning and buying strategy across all media channels, including digital (search, display, social, video, programmatic) and traditional (TV, print, radio, OOH).
- Client Relationships: Serve as the primary point of contact for media strategy with key clients, ensuring alignment with their business objectives and providing ongoing consultation.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and grow the media planning and buying team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Media Buying: Oversee negotiations with media vendors, ensuring efficient and cost-effective media buys across all channels while securing value-added benefits for clients.
- Budget Management: Ensure media spend is managed within client budgets, providing accurate forecasting, reporting, and analysis to measure ROI.
- Campaign Optimization: Continuously monitor, analyze, and optimize media campaigns for performance, ensuring key KPIs are met and exceeded.
- Data & Insights: Leverage data analytics and market research to inform media strategies and provide clients with actionable insights.
- Partnership Development: Build and maintain relationships with key media vendors, platforms, and technology partners to stay ahead of industry trends and innovations.
- Innovation & Growth: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging platforms, and tools, and integrate new opportunities into media strategies.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with creative, account management, and analytics teams to ensure cohesive campaign execution.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
- 6-10+ years of experience in media planning and buying with a strong focus on digital media, ideally within an agency environment.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
- In-depth understanding of media channels (digital, traditional) and media technologies (DSPs, ad servers, DMPs).
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with media vendors.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and clients in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with media tools such as Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, DV360, and Nielsen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with large-scale, multinational clients.
- Familiarity with programmatic media buying.
- Certification in media planning tools or platforms (e.g., Google Marketing Platform, Facebook Blueprint).
