OverviewThe Senior Specialist role will report into the Supervisor position and will be a part of the Digital Strategy & Activation Team. This team works collectively to ensure that we have a thorough understanding of and a pulse on the media landscape, make smart investments with media partners, negotiating mutually favorable terms, and plan and execute client media buys that best deliver on their business and marketing objectives.
ResponsibilitiesABOUT THE ROLE
The expectations for this role fall into 3 key categories:
1. Developing Teams & Talent
- Manages and contributes to training of Sr Associates/Associates on their team and billing/reconciliation team individuals.
- Develop content for new hire bootcamp.
- Reviews and supports goals of Negotiators/Specialist/Associates.
2. Delivering on Our Value Proposition
- Collaborate with partners as company representative.
- Understands partner portfolio offerings and can identify client opportunities, participating in bringing forth proactive solutions to clients.
- Collaborate in negotiations for assigned clients and campaigns.
- First Touch QA for Senior Associate/Associate RFP work.
- Manages performance conversations with partner for select high-level accounts.
- Develop campaigns that partner with preferred partners.
- Execute campaign management and delivery in full of select high-level accounts across most steps independently with highest accuracy.
- Understand fundamentals in negotiations.
- Independently develop and execute performance and delivery of select high-level accounts.
3. Managing Business & Operations
This position is both strategic and tactical in scope, requiring the Sr. Specialist to independently generate strategic insights for the campaigns in his/her portfolio and implement campaigns with the support of Campaign Specialists
- Own strategic planning and campaign execution for select high touch (but not limited to) accounts and can serve as first touch QA for Associates and Senior Associates.
- Lead and assist in coaching, managing, and educating (DS&A team members) helping to support social campaigns, with the understanding some training may happen to colleagues at all levels (intern to executive leadership, if needed.)
- Can execute process with minimal oversight and high degree of accuracy
- Can troubleshoot issues and escalate when needed
- Establish expectations through clear communication with client and vendor.
- Understands billing process through owning RFI process, reconciliation of invoices in Prisma and approvals on the Unbilled Report for select high-level accounts.
- Plan, execute, manage, and optimize programmatic media campaigns for agency clients (e.g. auction/exchange-based performance media, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest or Reddit, or other platforms to be determined) both independently, and in support of senior members of the team while meeting or surpassing client performance expectations
- Oversees accuracy of data in OX/Prisma, Salesforce, and HOK platforms for partner activation, optimizations, and reporting.
- Contributes to developing new tools and improving existing tools
QualificationsTECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENT
We value diversity of thought and experiences at APEX! If you learned about media from the sales or agency side, that’s great but we do need folks with basic level of understanding of how media investment works as well as a background in Social buying/trading.
- The ideal candidate will have prior online trafficking and campaign management experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and prior experience with bid management platforms and active campaign optimization. Campaign Managers must possess a strong inner drive to contribute
- Must have 2+ years of experience in bid management, campaign management/optimization, or digital media operations
- Client facing experience with the ability to identify risks and effectively manage through issues
- Understanding of traditional and interactive media planning elements
- 3-5 years of experience with Basic knowledge of media is critical for success in this role
- Diverse backgrounds and experience are welcome including Agency Planning/Investment, Media Sales, Consulting and/or Media Client Side
- Knowledge of Prisma, platform HOK systems, and MS Office Suite (must be proficient in Excel); basic understanding of SalesForce a plus
- Understanding of the media landscape, with a thorough understanding of Social
- Business financial acumen is preferred
- Strong project management skills
