Position Summary
Silversea Cruises is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Fleet Media Manager to join our shoreside team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, creating, and managing all published onboard content, including images, video, and written materials leading the Onboard Media Manager teams in execution. The Media Manager will understand and use all relevant departmental data to maximize the value of all communications by driving revenue results and guest satisfaction, closely KPIs and adjusting communications accordingly.
This position will report onsite in Miami, FL
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Content Management & Optimization
- Responsible for creating and managing data-driven visual and written content published onboard, in partnership with the relevant onboard and shoreside teams.
- Train shipboard teams on relevant KPIs driven by onboard media and how to optimize; share data and monitor implementation and results, in partnership with HOPs and OBR.
- Ensure all onboard publications, both written and interactive, meet Silversea standards in accordance with corporate look and brand standards.
- Create necessary publications for Charter cruises in partnership with C&I, Culinary, and other teams as required.
Database Management & Maintenance
- Update and maintain the database for onboard Media Managers with the required visual content and designs, ensuring ease of access and understanding of requirements.
- Maintain and manage the database on the company’s SharePoint as a constant reference for Media Managers onboard.
- Ensure all vessels follow and maintain the same standards.
Promotional Material Creation
- Collaborate with the Revenue Department to create promotional materials for Future Cruise Sales, Casino, Boutique, and Spa, and other onboard departments as required; suggest promotional communications based on results.
Menus
- Design and update all dining and bar menus in cooperation with the Corporate Culinary Team in print and digital formats; manage translations and changes for Charter groups as required.
Team Leadership
- Prepare the rotation for all vessels and ensure each vessel is staffed with a Media Manager at all times.
- Hire new Media Managers as required in cooperation with recruitment; assist in onboarding and ongoing training of Onboard Media Managers, measuring and communicating performance and development opportunities.
- Ensure that onboard Media Managers/Desktop Publishers use the correct files and follow provided guidelines, including one-off events or communications as required.
- Ensure a culture of continuous improvement, reviewing and making recommendations based on data analysis and OBR and Hotel Ops priorities, to tailor communications accordingly.
- Maintain constant communication with Onboard Media Managers to train and develop a data- and results-focused team.
Equipment and Supplies Management
- Ensure all equipment including printers and other HW is in good working condition; arrange for technical support in cooperation with the IT Department if necessary.
- Coordinate with the Procurement department to ensure outfitting of newbuilds, all necessary papers, toners, and other equipment are on order and sufficient stock is available on all vessels; proactively look for ways to manage output and costs.
- Track onboard consumption and identify any unnecessary waste, recommending optimizations in partnership with procurement; create and maintain costs to operating budget.
- Be familiar with and suggest new channels and methods for reaching guests to maximize guest experience and OBR performance.
- Identifies and leads the development of reports and initiatives to better leverage existing information and systems (i.e.: demographic data and personalized offers).
- Interfaces with Silversea Marketing and Loyalty program for development of new programs as well as maintaining brand standards across our operations.
- Works with our revenue partners in conjunction with our newbuilding department to design operational space concepts and layouts for new and revitalized ships within our fleet.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization.
Qualifications, Knowledge And Skills
- BA or equivalent qualification in digital marketing, media and journalism / Experience Equivalent.
- Overall + 8 yrs work experience with minimum 3 yrs Management experience, including experience leading virtual or dispersed teams preferred.
- Shipboard Operations experience plus Travel required - 10-25%.
